Access to fresh healthy foods is essential to building a strong community.

Our Community Co-operative would not be complete without including our local fresh food growers and artisan food vendors. In fact, these people are the backbone of sustainable food sources in our communities! Unfortunately, our KootsRoots Community Co-op storefront is not set up for perishable items and so we can only stock non-perishable Artisan creations and some edible packaged creations with a longer shelf life. Quite honestly, there are others here in Cranbrook who can do this part very well, so we do not feel the need to duplicate, but rather just get the word out as to what IS available.

As a way to honor and include our local food growers and artisans, we are providing a space here on our website to host a comprehensive list of growers, businesses and artisans who offer fresh produce and other delicious and nutritious foods where those who are looking for specific products can easily find them in their own areas. For your convenience, we have created a post for each community to make it easier to connect the vendors with buyers in each area.

If you are a food grower/artisan, please add a comment to the post for your area/location. In your comment, please provide the following:

  • Business name (or your name)

  • Contact information

  • Address

  • Categories of products you provide (eg: artisan breads, baking, fresh produce, fresh or frozen food items, meats, etc)

If you are looking to purchase various fresh foods, go to the post for your home area and check the comments for those resources available in your area. If you know growers/artisans who are not yet listed, please encourage them to add themselves to the list so more people can find them! Oh…and PLEASE DO reply to the vendors that you purchase amazing foods from and leave them some love! <3

Your contribution matters
