Our Artisan Member Program

The purpose of the KootsRoots Community Cooperative is to provide a storefront space, marketing service and a distribution network to sell the crafts and products on behalf of its members. Members will also have an option to use the storefront space to host events on a designated day each month. 

The KootsRoots Community Cooperative will be operating in a unique way. The Cooperative is only to provide a marketing service and a distribution network for its members and the Cooperative will not be collecting or remitting any taxes on behalf of the members. Members are solely responsible to self-assess and remit their own taxes based on the financial reporting provided by The KootsRoots Community Cooperative. Members are responsible for their own product pricing and acknowledge the KootsRoots Community Cooperative will not be adding any taxable amounts to products. 

Reporting to members will be on a bi-weekly basis, inventory will be tracked in the point-of-sale system SQUARE and a back up handwritten ledger. The end of month reporting will show members their sales and also commission deductions along with their e-transfer deposit amounts. Payments to members will be at the end of each month. Any members that are hosting events will be paid out the following day. 

The KootsRoots Community Cooperative will keep member sales fair and will not be adding too many members that share the same Artistic Path or Products. We will keep similar artists' products to two different vendors at one time in the store. Ex. Jewelry Artist members, Wood Working Artist Members Ect…. Our goal is to offer our customers a wide range of different Artisan Products.

There will be a three-month signing commitment of your space. This is best for all Artist Members so the store will stay full and attract more customers.

Fees for Artisan Members are rent of $55-$80 a month due on the 1st of each month and 15% Commission payable on MonthlySales.
